A Little Bit About Scott

Hi, I’m Scott—half of the husband-and-wife team behind Roamers RV Gear and our YouTube channel, TheRoadRoamers. My wife Amie and I have always had a deep love for the RV lifestyle, but it took a profound personal loss in 2016—the passing of both my brother and father just weeks apart—for us to fully commit to the life we’d long dreamed about. That moment pushed us to stop putting things off. In 2021, we sold our home, hit the road full-time, and never looked back.

Our journey has been decades in the making. We’ve been married since 1990, and we’ve camped through just about every phase—tenting in the rain, wrestling with pop-ups, enjoying cozy travel trailers, and now living full-time in Ava, our 35-foot Alliance Avenue 5th Wheel. Every stage brought its own lessons, challenges, and unforgettable memories. But it wasn’t until we committed fully that we realized how transformative this lifestyle really is—not just in where we go, but in how we live and what we value.

I come from a background of 27 years in the autobody trade, which has served me well when it comes to RV maintenance, troubleshooting, and fixing things that break (because something always does). Amie brings 25 years of real estate experience, which helps us navigate the world of space, function, and smart investments—whether it’s a brick-and-mortar home or a home on wheels. Together, we’ve built a life around freedom, function, and sharing what we know with others who are curious about the road less traveled.

That’s why we launched Roamers RV Gear. It’s not just a business—it’s a reflection of our journey. Every product we recommend on our site has been road-tested and handpicked by us. We’ve made the mistakes, figured out what works (and what doesn’t), and we’re committed to helping fellow RVers enjoy smoother travels through better gear and solid advice. If it’s on our website, it passed the “Scott and Amie” test—meaning it’s something we’d actually use in our own rig.

We also run a YouTube channel, TheRoadRoamers, where we document the real stuff—gear reviews, fixes, travel tips, and personal stories. No fluff, just real-life experiences to help others make informed choices. I’ve always believed that knowledge means little unless it’s shared, and that’s exactly what we aim to do: give back to the RV community that’s given so much to us.

This journey is about more than just gear and gadgets. It’s about connection—to each other, to nature, and to the incredible community we’ve found on the road. We’re proud parents and grandparents, and nothing makes us happier than sharing these experiences with our family and inspiring others to take the leap toward a life that’s more intentional, more mobile, and more fulfilling.

Whether you’re just starting out or have miles of road behind you, we’re here to support your journey. We invite you to check out our store at RoamersRVGear.com, explore our videos on TheRoadRoamers, and if you ever want to talk shop or ask a question, we’re always just a message away. Because this road we’re on—it’s better when traveled together.
